I have lived in the same all electric home which I had built 20 years ago. It has always been comfortable in summer, but cold in winter. Recently, my wife and I decided to finish our basement and install a new heat and air system. After listening to Ricky and Chad on the Energy Master Home show we began to use some of their ideas and information. What they said made sense and most importantly, it worked!

I have been in service work all my life. I know that top quality parts, equipment and service don't come cheap. We did our homework and got other quotes from other companies. The other companies wanted to sell us a similar system, without repairing or even pointing out several of the problems with the house. They appeared to ignore a serious problem with some of the ductwork. Their quotes were almost as much as EMH without addressing all the issues the EMH quote covered.

We scheduled an appointment and received a complete diagnosis, evaluation and quote. EMH was extremely professional and informative with the most detailed information of any quote we received. Royce assured us that after the installation he recommended, we would no longer need a secondary heat source in order to stay comfortable in the winter. After seeing the numbers on paper, it was very obvious that although the walls and attic were well insulated, our air leaks and un-insulated basement were a serious problem. We agreed to have EMH install a complete new XL19i system with Clean Effects filter, as well as a complete new return air system. We also had EMH seal our crawl space. EMH found all of our air leaks and made suggestions as to how we could seal them ourselves. They also suggested we insulate our water pipes, advised us on how to insulate our basement and suggested a very efficient water heater to replace our leaking unit.

EMH performed their installation work efficiently and professionally all in one day. Following their recommendations we have sealed the air leaks and insulated the basement. After fighting the cold and inconsistent temperatures for 20 years, our home now stays warm and comfortable. The temperature maintains the setting on the thermostat throughout the house, even in January. We are enjoying not having to deal with wood heaters, pellet stoves or space heaters. We also no longer have cold floors over the crawl space or the basement.
